The Tyanna Foundation honors a mother’s life, love, and living legacy. Tyanna Barre O’Brien lost her battle with breast cancer in 1990 at the tender age of 48. Her legacy continues today through the work of her daughters Anne, Bridget, Megan, Sara & Kate O’Brien, the founders of BreastFest. It is our commitment to awareness and prevention that inspires and leads the work of the Tyanna Foundation.
Since it’s inception in 1999 in Athens, GA., the Tyanna Foundation has worked tirelessly increasing awareness and generating money for breast cancer research, services, education, treatment and patient care for local breast cancer patients and survivors. We are expanding our reach, and have raised over $1,000,000 to help local organizations in Southern New Jersey, Baltimore, Maryland, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to treat and care for breast cancer patients.
All of the funds raised in each city benefit a local breast center or breast health organization.

BreastFest Athens is moving to a new location for 2014.
March 29th from 2 – 8 pm at
Little Kings Shuffle Club
223 W. Hancock Street
Athens, GA 30601
BreastFest Athens raises money for local breast cancer prevention and services, with 10% going to the Foundation and 90% going to the St. Mary’s Women’s Diagnostic and Imaging Center in Athens.
BreastFest Athens attracts hundreds of attendees each year, features dozens of local businesses and artists, and is supported by many generous local sponsors. BreastFest Athens has donated nearly $100,000 to the St. Mary's Women's Diagnostic and Imaging Center, which has been used to host Free Mammogram Days, and to purchase state of the art diagnostic equipment.
The 2014 event will feature a top-notch live music line-up, a kids carnival (kids are free!), local food, wine, cocktails and Terrapin beer, and an incredible silent auction and raffle, all in the awesome downtown Athens setting at Little Kings Shuffle Club (223 W. Hancock). Most importantly, the event focuses on breast cancer awareness, prevention, treatment and care.
Tickets will be for sale by the end of January at http://athensmusic.net or from St. Mary's hospital or a BreastFest Athens executive committee member.
